Dear Mr. Eriksson,
We are writing on behalf of the Russian Canadian Democratic Alliance and activists to express our sincere and deepest gratitude to the Finland Government, and to the People of Finland for extending hospitality to the citizens of the Russian Federation. We understand that now the borders are closed but we very much appreciate the help that has been provided earlier and wanted to extend our gratitude.
In the darkest hours of Russian history when for seven horrible months, the government of Russia is waging an unprovoked war with Ukraine, an independent, sovereign country, you agreed to help the citizens of the Russian Federation who refused to support the regime and commit war crimes by joining the military forces attending the conflict zone. By accepting those fleeing from Russia, you are saving lives and preventing further genocide of Ukrainian citizens.
The People of Finland have demonstrated the highest kindness, generosity and commitment to human rights and freedom. There are not enough words to express our gratitude to the government and the People of Finland for this noble act.
